Beschreibung

Solleveld is a unique dune area that's part of National Park Hollandse Duinen. The trees here are curved by the salty sea breeze. The oak trees in this area are special because nowhere else in the Netherlands they grow so close to the sea. Solleveld also has open areas with heather and shrubs. There are many open areas with infiltration pools. The alternation between open and closed vegetation shows the character of Solleveld. There is a large colony of Kormoran present. Until not too long ago, this area was only accessible to people with a special passe-partout. Due to this, Solleveld is a rather unknown gem. Solleveld is now accessible with a day ticket, because of the special and vulnerable nature.

Some species you might find here are: Rohrdommel, Habicht, Seidensänger, Schwarzkehlchen, Gartenrotschwanz, Bluthänfling and many more! If you're lucky, you might even see Sumpfohreule!
