The area is easily accessible with a walking path around the two lakes. It is unique to have such an area so close to the city. Common reedbirds like Schilfrohrsänger, Rohrammer and Teichrohrsänger breed in the reedbeds. Other birds that can be heard or seen are Uferschnepfe, Brandgans, Säbelschnäbler, Löffler and Blaukehlchen. Numerous geese and duck species can be seen.
The unpaved trails lead right past puddles full of waders and geese. The Kiebitz stunt around you to divert attention from their nests.
