The area consists of a few small shallow lakes. In winter, 10 species of ducks can be found here, as well as herons. In summer, waders and Löffler can be found, as wel as Schilfrohrsänger and Rohrschwirl. But also a chance on nice birds as Knäkente, Tüpfelsumpfhuhn and Schwarzhalstaucher.

There are 2 small parking lots at the Meerweg and the Kleihoogt. The area itself can best be explored walking (or cycling).
