The southern lagoon is a good place for observing waders and gulls, depending on the tides and season. The site is located in a pseudo-raised place where you have a wide view of the entire surrounding area. Among the birds you can observe are Großer Brachvogel, Austernfischer, Alpenstrandläufer, Kiebitzregenpfeifer, Säbelschnäbler, Stelzenläufer, Dünnschnabelmöwe, Schwarzkopfmöwe, Brandgans and Rosaflamingo.

There is no possibility of stopping by car, only on a lay-by at the side of the road. There are four of those along the road, they are marked with a P. Click on a P to get directions. You can stop there for a short time and overlook the lagoon. Another possibility is to find a road junction and stay near the car. You can position yourself on the embankment with a telescope. Note that this is a place without shade and very hot in summer.
