Beschreibung

Lagoni di Mercurago was built to protect the six circles of moraines that formed around Lake Maggiore during the last Ice Age. The heart of the area is formed by wetlands where numerous bird species can be seen. The extensive forests that characterize this protected area consist mainly of oak, birch, Scots pine and alder, but also include chestnut and acacia trees. You can see a mix of forest birds and water birds.
