Capo d'Otranto has easy access, thanks to the small lake of the former bauxite quarry. This is an excellent observation point for the spring migration of numerous species of birds. Among the birds you can encounter are Mornellregenpfeifer, Rotflügel-Brachschwalbe, Korallenmöwe, Steppenweihe, Rohrweihe, Adlerbussard, Rötelschwalbe and Maskengrasmücke.
