Beschreibung
The area includes corn and wheat fields, with scattered areas of bushes and woods. Its open viewing angle makes this area optimal for observations, both for spring and autumn migration of passerines and raptors. In spring you can see tens or even hundreds of Wiesenschafstelzes of almost all WP subspecies (included Sykes's, Iberian, British and Black-headed), tens of Steinschmätzers, Feldlerches , some Rotkehlpiepers, Brachpiepers and the rare Kurzzehenlerche (the only regular stop-over site in the province of Varese). In winter Raubwürger is a regular visitor and sometimes over-winters in the area along with tens of Bergpiepers, hundreds of Buchfinkes, Bergfinks but also Bluthänflings and Rohrammers. Dohles are also a regular visitor and breed in the surrounding area.
