Beschreibung
Uma Maheshwaram is a temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva on the edge of Nallamala forest. The temple sits on top of a hill covered by huge trees. Uma Maheshwaram is surrounded by dry deciduous forests, rocky valleys, and small streams. It’s a good spot for birds like Indian Paradise-Flycatcher, White-bellied Drongo, Yellow-throated Sparrow, Alexandrine Parakeet and the endemic Yellow-throated Bulbul. In winter, warblers, migratory eagles and thrushes appear. The mix of cliffs and forest, make it a rich birding site with great views and there have been some documented sightings of a Black Baza in 2024.
