Örfirisey is a reliable spot to observe the birdlife of the Reykjavík bay. Especially in the colder times of the year. Bringing your telescope, a scan of the bay and horizon might produce birds like Eisente, Krähenscharbe, Basstölpel, Krabbentaucher, Kragenente and Mittelsäger. You might also see Sterntaucher and Eistaucher. Örfirsey has also hosted a male Höckersamtente every winter since 2014, proving it as a reliable spot for this vagrant. Overhead, Schneeammer might pass, and along the rocks there might be Gryllteiste.
