The raptor watchpoint near Kalloni provides a great view over the valley southwards that mainly raptors and storks tend to follow northwards during their spring migration. You need to have a bit of luck, but if you're there during a peak migration event, hundreds and hundreds of raptors and storks can be observed. Common species that can be seen are harriers, like Wiesenweihe and even Steppenweihe, storks, like Schwarzstorch and Weißstorch, Adlerbussard, Steppe Buzzard, Schlangenadler, Wespenbussard, Kurzfangsperber, Habicht, Baumfalke, Rotfußfalke, Eleonorenfalke, Rötelfalke and Wanderfalke. Scarcer species can sometimes be seen within flocks of other raptors, like Schreiadler, Habichtsadler, Zwergadler and Kaiseradler.
The area surrounding the viewpoint is also good for typical inland species, like Blaumerle, Maurensteinschmätzer and Grauortolan.

There is a sheltered viewpoint (see map) available, which provides some nice shade during warmer parts of the day. You can easily park near the viewpoint. Click on the P in the map for directions.
