Beschreibung
South of the main road, next to the saltpans, a large field consisting of lower vegetation and seasonal pools is located. This area cannot be easily accessed, but are still worth a check with your binoculars or telescope. The seasonal pools can hold large numbers of waders, egrets, herons and waterfowl. Groups of pipits, wagtails and larks, like Rotkehlpieper and Kurzzehenlerche, can be seen here too, feeding in the surrounding grassy vegetation. Also, the electricity wires along the road and in the field are great for Bienenfresser, Wiedehopf, shrikes and swallows. During migration, flocks of Rotfußfalke can be seen here too. Raptors can be seen hunting above these fields too, like Rohrweihe.
Further down the road, near the seaside, you can walk along the beach and check the bushes for Heckensänger. The fields next to the beach are great for flocks of pipits, wagtails and larks, like Brachpieper and Kurzzehenlerche. The area is also used as breeding ground for Triel.
