Beschreibung
The Salmenwiesen meadows are easily accessible and offer a good mix of birds all year round, especially at times when there is water on the meadows and in the ditches. When the meadows are flooded, a good number of birds use the meadows as a place to feed and rest. Graugans, Kanadagans, Graureiher, Teichhuhn, Stockente and Rabenkrähe are nearly always present. At times they are joined by Weißstorch, Rostgans and Krickente.
During spring migration it is possible to see pairs or small groups of Schwarzkehlchen and Wiesenschafstelze. If you are lucky, you may see Bekassine , Feldschwirl or even a rarity such as a Kuhreiher! During spring and summer there is a good chance of observing Dorngrasmücke, Neuntöter and Rauchschwalbe. Birds of prey can also frequently be observed soaring over the meadows.
In winter, Wiesenpieper and Bachstelze are usually present and can be heard and seen foraging on the meadows and in the reeds.
