This seaside promontory is on the eastern edge of the island of Pellworm, in the middle of the Nationalpark Schleswig-Holsteinisches Wattenmeer. It jutts out into the shallow North Frisian sea and mudflats, and is crossed by many groynes and embankments. It's a great birding spot almost all-year-round, especially during migration times.
During high water throughout the year (except June), this is a major roosting area for Austernfischer, Großer Brachvogel, Alpenstrandläufer, Brandgans, Silbermöwe, Lachmöwe and Rotschenkel.
In spring (March - May) this also includes Pfuhlschnepfe, Knutt, Ringelgans, Steinwälzer, Sandregenpfeifer, Feldlerche, Bachstelze, Graugans and Goldregenpfeifer.
Breeding birds include Austernfischer, Sandregenpfeifer, Lachmöwe, Säbelschnäbler,Rotschenkel and Brandgans.
During summer one can find Zwergseeschwalbe, Flußseeschwalbe, Küstenseeschwalbe,Brandseeschwalbe and Sichelstrandläufer, and in winter Eiderente and Pfeifente.
With a little bit of luck, especially during autumn migration, Wanderfalke, Seeadler, Sperber, Mäusebussard and with a lot of luck Sumpfohreule can be spotted.

Zugang
The island of Pellworm is reachable by the SCH Pellworm ferry (marked 1 on the map) from the 'Nordstrand (b Husum)' port on the mainland to the east. It's a 35min journey.
The best way to explore the area is by bike or foot. The path from the lighthouse (marked 2 on the map) in the south to the old harbor (marked 3 on the map) to the north is about 4 km, so an hour walk non-stop or 15min bike ride. By car you can only drive along the inner dikes, so one must repeatedly get out of the car to cross over them. From on top of the dike, you can easily observe the area from above.
