Beschreibung

The Ohlsdorfer Friedhof is very naturally laid out and therefore offers a refuge for many birds. In addition to lawns, there are many hedges, a good 36,000 trees and 15 ponds. Accordingly, in addition to many species of birds, there are also other animals such as squirrels, rabbits, hedgehogs, martens, deer, foxes, as well as many butterflies and wild bees.

First and foremost, the park is a good area for observing songbirds, but also woodpeckers and birds of prey. On the various bodies of water you can also see geese and other water birds, sometimes even Eisvogel. An educational trail about birds and bats with 13 information boards was created.

Among the birds you can encounter are Mönchsgrasmücke, Singdrossel, Heckenbraunelle, Fitis, Zilpzalp, Gartenbaumläufer, Sumpfmeise, Tannenmeise, Bläßhuhn, Teichhuhn, Eisvogel, Reiherente, Eichelhäher, Turmfalke and Uhu.
