Beschreibung
The Hollerner See is a 30-hectare quarry lake that was created on the site of a former gravel pit. Although the lake was only completed in 2019 and there are many bathers in the summer, many species of birds have settled there. Different species of ducks, Haubentaucher, Zwergtaucher and Graugans can be found on the lake. The geese use the lake as a breeding and moulting ground.
In spring and summer Drosselrohrsänger, Teichrohrsänger, Rohrammer and Zwergdommel breed in the reeds on the shore. Flußregenpfeifer and Flußuferläufer can often be seen on the small island. In the area around the lake you can see Fasan, Rebhuhn, Grünspecht and Goldammer all year round. Sumpfrohrsänger, Gelbspötter, Dorngrasmücke and Fitis in the summer months.
