The Engerser Feld is of international importance as a bird sanctuary and resting place for bird migration. It has a great biodiversity and many birds can be seen like Zwergsäger, Rothalstaucher, Flußuferläufer, Flußregenpfeifer, Waldwasserläufer, Austernfischer, Uferschwalbe and Eisvogel.
