Les Salines Rémire-Montjoly allows you to cross several biotopes of the coast of Guyana: forests on white sand as well as mangroves and mudflats. The fairly short 1, 5 km path runs along the beach which also allows you to observe coastal species. Among the birds frequently seen are Semipalmated Plover, Wattled Jacana, Short-billed Dowitcher, Lesser Yellowlegs, Greater Yellowlegs, Stilt Sandpiper, Least Sandpiper, Semipalmated Sandpiper, Scarlet Ibis, Tricolored Heron, Snowy Egret, Striated Heron, Black Vulture, Green Kingfisher, White-fringed Antwren, Yellow-chinned Spinetail, Pied Water-Tyrant, Great Kiskadee, Tropical Gnatcatcher, Magnificent Frigatebird, Green Ibis, Rufous Crab Hawk, Little Blue Heron, Roadside Hawk, American Pygmy Kingfisher, Spot-breasted Woodpecker, Palm Tanager, Bicolored Conebill, Pale-vented Pigeon, Little Cuckoo, Fork-tailed Palm-Swift, Blue-tailed Emerald, Yellow-billed Tern, Black-crowned Night Heron, Green-rumped Parrotlet, Black-crested Antshrike, Spotted Tody-Flycatcher, Yellow-bellied Elaenia, Boat-billed Flycatcher, Violaceous Euphonia, Shiny Cowbird, Yellow Warbler, Laughing Gull, Black-headed Antbird, Black-capped Donacobius, Ruddy Turnstone, Green-tailed Jacamar, Brown-throated Parakeet, Tropical Mockingbird, Green-tailed Goldenthroat, Black-collared Hawk, White-headed Marsh Tyrant, Ringed Kingfisher, Great Black Hawk, Lineated Woodpecker, Cocoi Heron, Yellow-crowned Night Heron, Crane Hawk, Turquoise Tanager, Cream-colored Woodpecker, Black Skimmer.

Français: La zone est un sentiers cours en bord de mer qui est composé d'un végétation sur sable blanc et d'une mangrove ainsi qu'un petit lac d'eau saumatre. La zone permet de traverser plusieurs biotopes du littoral de guyane : les forets sur sables blanc ainsi que les mangroves et des vasières. Le sentier assez court longe la plage se qui permet aussi de contacter les espèces cotières.

Les Salines Rémire-Montjoly is located 7 km east of Cayenne. There is a parking lot at the start of the trail. Press P on the map for directions or coordinates. The walk is done on foot, quite early because the sun quickly heats the sand which makes it burning if you are barefoot.
