In a traditional countryside of pastures filled with flowers and woodland, around 900 m high, a wide variety of passerines can be seen relatively easily. Neuntöter , Heidelerche , Schwarzkehlchen are everywhere, Gartenrotschwanz and Bluthänfling are around the villages, and Steinschmätzer on stone walls. Some Braunkehlchen can still be found in marshy grassland, and raptors are frequent ( Rotmilan , Wiesenweihe , Schlangenadler)
But the main species here are Raubwürger which tend to be rare nowadays, and Steinsperling who are nesting in few numbers.

From Saint Bonnet-le-Chateau go to Usson-en-Forez, cross the village direction Craponne-sur-Arzon, and look for the signpost "Jouanzeq". from here there is no very convenient way to park but a car can be parked along the road.
