Etang du Louroux is located upstream of the village of Louroux and 15 minutes from Loches. The lake covers an area of 52 hectares and is rich in birds. You can see more than 150 species of birds here. A 5,5 km circular trail makes it easy to explore the area. It is a quiet site with a very beautiful bird observatory. Present all year round are Zwergtaucher Haubentaucher, Höckerschwan, Stockente, Bläßhuhn, Lachmöwe. Other birds you can see here are Graugans, Knäkente, Löffelente, Schnatterente, Pfeifente, Krickente, Reiherente, Kiebitz, Goldregenpfeifer and Schwarzkopfmöwe.

Français: Situé en amont du bourg du Louroux et à 15 mn de Loches, l’étang des roseaux, particulièrement poissonneux, s’étend sur une surface de 52 hectares. Ce patrimoine naturel dont la faune et la flore sont préservées, est valorisé par un observatoire ornithologique d’où l’on peut apercevoir environ 150 espèces d’oiseaux et par un sentier d’interprétation. Site calme ,très bel observatoire. Présent toute l'année sont Zwergtaucher Haubentaucher, Höckerschwan, Stockente, Bläßhuhn, Lachmöwe. You can park at the lake. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From the parking it's a 750 meter walk to the observatory. You can also make a 5,5 km circular walk around the Louroux pond to explore the wetland. Along the way you will pass the observatory. The circular walk is shown on the map below.

Vous pouvez également faire une promenade circulaire de 5,5 km autour de l'étang de Louroux pour découvrir la zone humide. En chemin, vous passerez devant l'observatoire.
