Le Champ Virlois is interesting for several reedbed species, including Blaukehlchen, Drosselrohrsänger, Schilfrohrsänger, Zwergdommel, Wasserralle and Rohrweihe. Beutelmeise has been spotted in stopover and crakes are possible.
In the surrounding forests Gimpel, Baumfalke, Fitis and Schwarzmilan are quite easy to see. Triel and Schellente can be found at the surrounding gravel pits.
