Etang David is a place filled with bush birds, especially in springtime: Mönchsgrasmücke, Nachtigall, Turteltaube are easy to find, as well as Eisvogel and Kolbenente on the pond. Woodpeckers can be found on deciduous trees: Buntspecht, Kleinspecht, Grünspecht, Schwarzspecht.
The place is also a nesting area for herons: Nachtreiher, Graureiher, Kuhreiher can be spotted from the pond side.
Some raptors: Schwarzmilan, Baumfalke and with chance Rotmilan and Schlangenadler are easy to spot hunting around.
Unusual birds like Beutelmeise are possible during a walk across this picturesque little place.
