The L’Espace Naturel Sensible des Ajeux is a nature reserve rich in habitats (lake, islets, willow groves, wasteland, meadows) and has a great biodiversity, especially in birds. Unusual species can be observed there such as Steppenmöwe, Löffler, Trauerseeschwalbe, Zwergschnepfe, Weißbart-Seeschwalbe or Flußregenpfeifer. The area is interesting all year round, there are many breeding birds such as Lachmöwe or Feldschwirl. Many species stop on the site during migration and many birds spend the winter there (Löffelente, Bekassine, Tafelente, Kolbenente, Schwarzhalstaucher).

Français: Ancienne carrière devenu Espace Naturel Sensible d'environ 85 hectares, constituée principalement d'un grand plan d'eau, situé à la Ferté Bernard en Sarthe. L'ENS des Ajeux est riche en habiats (lac, îlots, saulaies, friches, prairies). Ce site acceuille une grande biodiversité, Odonates, Amphibiens, Hétérocères et notament des Oiseaux.
Des espèces peu communes peuvent y être observées tel que le Goéland pontique, la Spatule blanche, la Guifette noire et moustac, le Bécasseau minute ou le Petit gravelot. Interrêssant toutes l'année, les nicheurs sont nombreux comme la Mouette mélanocéphale ou la Locustelle tachetée. De nombreux espèces s'arrête sur le site pendant les migrations et beaucoup d'oiseaux y passe l'hiver (Fuligule, Nette rousse, Grèbe à cou noir, Canard souchet, Bécassine sourde).
