Beschreibung

Bulbjerg is a limestone cliff in the north of Jutland. Since 1987, there have been observations and breeding attempts of Eissturmvogel, of which 2 breeding pairs had the first successfull breeding in 2000.

From the cliff you can observe duckspecies as Eiderente. From the cliff can be seen flocks of Trauerente which feed on mussels and snails, which they dive down and pick up from the seabed. In summer mostly males and young birds can be seen at Bjulberg where they moult their feathers.

Other birds that can be seen from the cliff are Dreizehenmöwe, Sterntaucher, Prachttaucher, Basstölpel, Tordalk, Trottellumme, Atlantiksturmtaucher, Dunkler Sturmtaucher, Sturmschwalbe, Wellenläufer and the different kinds of skua, such as Schmarotzerraubmöwe. Also Uferschwalbe can be seen here.

During spring migration, there are good opportunities to see birds of prey, especially on days with easterly winds. Birds you can expect are Mäusebussard, Raufußbussard, Rotmilan, Fischadler, Merlin and in the best case, Seeadler and Steinadler.

On the remains of Skarreklit - a 16 meter high limestone cliff which was ruined during a storm in 1978 - can be seen Kormoran, the species which gave this rock its name.
