There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare Bartmeise and there are nesting some other rare birds like Zwergdommel , Blaukehlchen and Karmingimpel. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example Steinschmätzer , Rohrschwirl , Schwarzkopfmöwe , Fischadler and sometimes even Seggenrohrsänger and Mariskenrohrsänger.
During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like Alpenstrandläufer , Kampfläufer , Zwergstrandläufer , Sichelstrandläufer , Dunkler Wasserläufer , Bruchwasserläufer and some other. Also you can observe Tüpfelsumpfhuhn or Wasserralle.
In Winter it is an ideal place for watching Bartmeise and if you are lucky you can see wintering Rohrdommel or Berghänfling .

Zugang
The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
