Cape Kormakitis is a promontory named after the nearby village. The cape marks the northernmost extent of Morphou Bay. From the cape you have a good chance of observing Mittelmeermöwe, Korallenmöwe, Mittelmeer-Sturmtaucher, Sepiasturmtaucher and Krähenscharbe. In the fields, treelines and bushes behind the cape you can find birds such as Brillengrasmücke, Samtkopf-Grasmücke, Kurzzehenlerche and Haubenlerche.
From August to October many gulls, terns, herons, ibis and waders pass the cape during migration. Also birds of prey flying south from Turkey often make a stop here. And during migration don't forget to scan the bushes and fields for flycatchers, redstarts, pipits, wagtails and warblers.

Cape Kormakitis is located on the north-western coast of Cyprus. From the village of Kormakitis take the road to the village of Livera. From Livera you walk, cycle or drive the 4 km to the cape on a gravel road in good condition. Press P in the map for directions.
