Selva Verde Lodge provides easy access to the rainforest and abundant biodiversity on 500 acres of tropical nature in the heart of Costa Rica's Sarapiquí county. There are many great birding areas nearby with over 460 species of birds. Directly from the restaurant you can see a feeding place and so many birds can be observed all day long. Many birds can also be observed throughout the lodge area. You can also go into the rainforest.

Located just 2 hours from San José. Take the General Cañas speedway until the Sabana Park, approximately 12 km - 7.5 miles, turn left at the second traffic light (National Bank) drive through San Jose downtown until Melico Salazar Theater. This building is in front of Central Park and diagonal to Metropolitan Cathedral, turn left again, drive 1/2 miles more ( 5 traffic lights ) and turn to your right. You will find the route to Guapiles ( Route 32 ) across Braulio Carrillo National Park, after 56 km - 34 miles until Rancho Roberto`s Restaurant, turn left to Puerto Viejo de Sarapiquí, drive for 32 km - 20 miles, once again here turn to your left and drive 5 km - 3 miles more.
