The reserve (called 'Baltata') is old natural forest next to Albena Resort and is good place to see Grauspecht, Grünspecht, Buntspecht, Mittelspecht, Kleinspecht and sometimes - Schwarzspecht, and other forest birds from the asphalt paths of the resort. The terrace of the tallest building of the resort (Dobrudzha Hotel) is an excellent watch point to observe the flow of migrating Rosapelikan and almost all raptor species of Europe. Zwergschnäpper, Gartenrotschwanz and other passerine birds cross the area during migration as well.
