Beschreibung
Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like Pfeifente, Schnatterente, Reiherente and Tafelente. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls Zwergtaucher and Graugans.
In recent years Rohrdommel has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years Bartmeise turns up. There's a big breeding population of Teichrohrsänger (>20 pairs) as do Seidensänger and Rohrammer in small numbers. In some years even Blaukehlchen breeds here.
The meadow areas further to the south, especially those along the railway hold most of the time waders in late winter and spring. Uferschnepfe, Bruchwasserläufer, Waldwasserläufer, Kampfläufer, Flußregenpfeifer (breeds some years), Alpenstrandläufer, Bekassine, Zwergschnepfe and others are seen annual. In winter this area often holds Bergpieper. In wet years species as Knäkente and Löffelente can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are Rohrammer, Seidensänger and Schwarzkehlchen.
The area more to the south can hold Eisvogel, Gebirgsstelze, Schwarzkehlchen and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
