The area around the Wibau gravel ponds near Marchtrenk is one of the ornithological hotspots in central Upper Austria. Expected breeding bird species include Großer Brachvogel, Kiebitz, Rebhuhn, Neuntöter and Mönchsgrasmücke. With a little luck, one or the other rare, migratory species can also be observed.
