The Schlatzingeraue Natur Park is located in the center of the Maltatal and consists of a small resting area surrounded with wet grasslands and forests next to the river. A small track leads you around the grassland and next to the river, where species such as Gebirgsstelze and Wasseramsel can be seen. Small patches of bushes and scattered trees are great for songbirds, like Mönchsgrasmücke and Waldbaumläufer and woodpeckers, like Buntspecht.
The grassland has several patches with bushes in which species, such as Klappergrasmücke, can be found. With a bit of luck, a Neuntöter might show up here too! The forests, mainly pine, are great for species such as Haubenmeise, Tannenmeise and Sommergoldhähnchen. Also, fairly large numbers of Tannenhäher can be found here too!
