Großkirchheim is a village within the Mölltal Valley, and part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The area has green meadows, forested mountain slopes and on the bottom of the valley the Möll River. You can find birds of prey, forest birds such as Buntspecht, Wintergoldhähnchen, and various tit species such as Haubenmeise. Along the Möll River you can find Gebirgsstelze and Wasseramsel.
