Beschreibung

Despite Oxley Creek Common’s urban location just 7 km from the Brisbane CBD, one quarter of Australia’s native bird species have been spotted onsite. The large open space hosts significant wetlands and is bounded on two sides by Oxley and Stable Swamp Creeks, which together provide habitat for many birds. Among the birds you can encounter on the 6 km walk through the area are White-bellied Sea-Eagle, Brown Falcon, Black-shouldered Kite, Australasian Pipit, Yellow-rumped Thornbill, Striped Honeyeater, Scarlet Honeyeater, Mangrove Gerygone, Varied Triller, Australian Reed-warbler, Plum-headed Finch, Tawny Frogmouth, Scarlet Honeyeater, Straw-necked Ibis, Black-necked Stork and many more.
