Beschreibung
Its a 5 km grade 3 walk around Lake Barrine but with a shorted 800m loop for those that don't fancy the whole thing. The Wet Tropics are a rainforest of global renoun with a great diversity of life. You can see Victoria's Riflebird displaying in the breeding season and hear good numbers of Tooth-billed Bowerbird calling in the later months. Its also home to a wide array of other rainforest birds that call North Queensland home.

Access is by car and there is free parking. If coming from Yungaburra take the Gillies Range Rd and follow for approx 9 km. Very clearly signposted and there will be a right turn onto the sealed national park access road that will take you to the parking area. Also follow signs for the Lake Barrine Tea House. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates.
The trail is well maintained but unpaved, widened in places and has wooden bridges over creeks but there are the occasional roots, fallen branches and vines that create trip hazards. It does have a slight incline in places so not a flat walk but one that can be taken ok at a steady birding pace. No access roads join the track other then at the start and finish (which is the same place).
A recent addition is a short loop that takes in the twin kauris which has now been made wheelchair accessible.
