Lakeside park in Winter Garden located on the shore of Lake Apopka. The park is the best place for Purple Gallinule.
Newton Park is the best and most reliable place for Purple Gallinule. Additionally, many duck species can be found in the lake in the winter. The park also hosts a large population of Boat-tailed Grackle that in many winters also have the rare Bronzed Cowbird mixed among them.
Newton Park is located at West Garden Avenue in Winter Garden on the shore of Lake Apopka. There are two main parking lots, either is fine as the park is fairly small. Press P on the map for directions to a parking lot. The best way to cover the park is to just walk on the sidewalk next to the lake.
