A very peaceful area with over 60 different species spotted here. There is a hide with a daily record of birds seen here. Overlooking the Angel of the North.
Lamesley Pastures Nature Reserve is a large open expanse with a few ponds visible from the hide. Regular sightings of Musvåges circling the Angel of the North. Pibeand, Krikand, Skeand, Gråand, Knarand and Rørhøne are regularly spotted here.
Lamesley Pastures Nature Reserve is located in Gateshead. You can park at the pub across the road where there is ample parking and arrangements have been made with them. Across the road from the driveway of the pub, there is a gate with a short path to the hide. A key will need to be obtained either from Gateshead Council or from Thornley Woodlands Centre. Due to the close proximity, even a short visit is possible.
