Relandscaped gravel pits in Nene Valley with reedbeds, islands, woodland, play area, disabled access, 4 hides/screens, cafe and leisure activities.
The reedbeds and adjoining scrub in Barnwell Country Park have Sivsanger, Rørsanger, Rørspurv and Cettisanger as breeders. Isfugl are frequent. Woodland has Træløber, Spætmejse and Sumpmejse. Winter wildfowl such as Knarand, Krikand, Spidsand, Taffeland and Troldand. See link below for details of one bird photographer's experience.
Barnwell Country Park is located directly to the south of the village of Oundle. Follow the brown and white signs off the A605 Oundle bypass. Click on the P in the map to get directions. Parking at Barnwell Country Park costs £3.20 for up to 4 hours. By Bus: there is a regular bus service to and from Oundle town centre - the bus stop is approximately a quarter of a mile away from the park. Barnwell Country Park is open all day, every day with free admission.
