Falätsche

Zürich  >  Switzerland

Fallätsche has a completely different climate than the rest of the forest around. With the bushes, pines and clearings, the area is reminiscent of the south.

Description

Falätsche has a very diverse vegetation due to frequent landslides. Down at the foot of the area it reminds you of a mixed forest in central Europe, but on the slopes it feels more like a mountain slope in southern Europe. In the open forest there are various orchids in May and June. But the Falätsche also offers bird species, which are rare in Mittelland, such as Bjergløvsanger Jernspurv Sortspætte, Mellemflagspætte, Ravn Alpesejler Gærdesanger, Grå Fluesnapper, Dompap, Kernebider, Misteldrossel and Duehøg.
