Natura 2000 area around the southern bay of lake Hallbosjön. The lake is very nutritious and known as one of Sörmland's best and most important bird lakes.

Description

Skåraviken is almost entirely surrounded by reeds and very important for both resting and nesting wetland birds. Around 210 bird species have been observed in the area. About 80 of them are breeding birds. The flora is also rich on the south side's grazed wet meadows. On the south side of the area you can find a bird observation tower. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Trane, Havørn, Rørhøg, Rovterne, Fjordterne, Blisgås, Sangsvane, Atlingand, Skeand, Vibe and Dobbeltbekkasin. Best time to visit is spring.
