Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Toppet Lappedykker, Knopsvane, Rørhøg and in some years Rørdrum,Gråstrubet Lappedykker and Skægmejse. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Rød Glente , Lille Flagspætte, Halemejse and Gulbug. During migration periods large flocks of Grågås , Canadagås , Gråand and Krikand stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Musvåge, Fjeldvåge, Rød Glente, Sort Glente, Fiskeørn and Havørn.
