Description
The Långfjället Nature Reserve is one of Sweden’s largest. The highest peak is Storvätteshogna, at 1204 m. It has areas of pure primeval forest without traces of forestry. On the moutain plateau it is lovely walking with plenty of birds on top and in dales. Lots of Fjeldrype, Engpiber, Hjejle and Stenpikker. You also find Lavskrige (in the coniferous forest) and Hvidklire (around small bog areas in the forest). And along the streams and rivers the Vandstær is a common sight. In the lakes and streams you can find ducks like Krikand, Hvinand and Sortstrubet Lom.You can also encounter moose, foxes, martens and brown bears.
