Description
Grosshamn Fältstation is located in Ramsvikslandet nature reserve. A landscape characterized by extensive rocky areas are interspersed with wet heaths, meadows and deciduous groves. The small-scale agricultural landscape, with its coherent system of arable land, meadow and pasture, is typical of the Bohuslän coast. The varied topography and an element of lime in the soil also contribute to the diversity of species. The area's coastal meadows and shallow bays are popular resting and nesting places for wading birds. Sometimes seabirds are blown in by storms. The trees and shrubs also attracts birds.
Grosshamn Fältstation welcomes visitors and organizes guided visits, see the info below. Among the birds that have been ringed here are Blåhals, Tornsanger, Rødrygget Tornskade, Vendehals, Stenpikker, Stillits, Stor Flagspætte, Kvækerfinke, Bynkefugl and Ringdrossel.

Grosshamn Fältstation is located on the coast, 35 km west of the city of Munkedal in Ramsvikslandet nature reserve. To get to the field station drive up to the village of Ramsvik, and from there you can drive up to the small parking of Grosshamn. Click on the P in the map for directions.
