Description
The Etxauri cliffs are a protected area with just over 70 hectares. On the rock walls of Peña de Etxauri nest Gåsegrib, Ådselgrib and they try to bring back the Høgeørn. It is an area of great bird fauna wealth and was declared ZEPA (special bird protection area) a few years ago. Other birds that nest on the cliffs are Kongeørn, Vandrefalk, Blådrossel and Stor hornugle.

Access
Peña de Etxauri is located 15 km west of Pamplona. The site is accessed from Pamplona via the N-700 going up from Etxauri. Click on the P in the map for directions. There are several trails to explore the area and walk to the different viewpoints. The short walk to the viewpoint at the chapel (Ermita de San Quiriaco) indicated on the map is about 1 km.
