Island on the Guadiana river as it passes through Mérida with good visibility and very lively during the breeding season.
Garcera Río Guadiana is an island in the middle of the riverbed in Mérida. It has a lot of vegetation, which has caused several species of birds to use it as a roost or to breed. Good spot to observe birds like Fiskehejre, Sort Ibis, Nathejre and Skestork.

The best location to observe the island is from the pedestrian part of the Lusitania Bridge, entering from any of its sides. From José Fernandez López avenue the observation area is closer.
