Barren mountain peak, part of the Trascau Range. Home to some interesting species such as Stendrossel, Murløber and Kongeørn.
Piatra Secuiului mountain peak rises to an elevation of 1,129 meters and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Transylvanian countryside. Between Rimetea village and the mountain you will find grasslands, agricultural lands and orchards where you can spot Sørgemejse. Once the climb starts one might be lucky to be welcomed by Klippeværling. Once on the ridge you enter the kingdom of Alpesejler, Mursejler and Klippesvale. At the southern end facing west on the rocky cliffs with a great amount of luck and patience one could see Stendrossel. Keep an eye out for Murløber. It could be on any of the many westerly sheer rock faces.
Piatra Secuiului mountain peak is located near the village of Rimetea. Main access from the village. Parking in Rimetea village centre. Press P on the map for directions to a parking spot. Secondary access south of Rimetea, just before Coltesti village entrance. Parking alongside the dirt road where possible. Explore on foot, can be done in a loop. Allow a full day for the 8 km loop, because it is a strenuous walk with steep ascents and rocky paths.
