Description

Rezerwat Przyrody Wiączyń is located in the northern part of the Łódź Upland in the area of Brzezińskie Hills. The forest in the reserve is shady, the undergrowth is poor even in early spring and never completely covers the soil. There is a group of old beeches and other trees in the reserve, which distinguishes the reserve from the rest of the Wiączyński Forest. The old trees are the main cause of the special protection of this area. Currently, there are 14, over 300-year-old, dying beech trees in the reserve with a trunk circumference of 3.0 m or more. A place definitely worth visiting while in the area. Among the birds you can encounter are Spurvehøg, Duehøg, Lærkefalk, Natugle, Mellemflagspætte, Sortspætte, Topmejse, Hærfugl, Skovsanger, Grå Fluesnapper and Broget fluesnapper. But many more see the birdlist below.
