Description
Dolistowo Nowe is an observation point and walk where you have a good view on the Biebrza wetland area. You can see for miles. A telescope is a must. There is a big chance of seeing Stor Skrigeørn, a rare nesting species at the westernmost edge of its range. With patience, they are regularly seen soaring overhead, and are more reliably encountered here than anywhere else in the National Park.
Other commonly seen species here include Lille Skrigeørn, Havørn, Hedehøg, Rørhøg, Musvåge and Tårnfalk. Sort Stork and Hvid Stork are also often seen soaring on warm days. White storks occupy a remarkable number of nestingplaces in the area.
In late summer, Dolistowo Nowe is a gathering place for Trane (from the end of July). Other birds you can observe include Savisanger, Hvidvinget Terne, Citronvipstjert, Engsnarre, Karmindompap, Pirol, Hvepsevåge, Vagtel, Skovspurv, Lærkefalk, Drosselrørsanger and others. Among the large mammals, moose can often be found in this area.
