Fånestangen is a sloping landscape towards Trondheimsfjorden. On the fjord you can see seabirds like Ederfugl, Fløjlsand, Havlit, Stor Skallesluger and Toppet Skallesluger. On the fields you can encounter birds like Kvækerfinke, Skovspurv and Gulspurv.
