A completely new salt marsh and bird breeding island has been constructed off the coast of Delfzijl.
The Marconi Kwelder is a new salt marsh that has been created in the tidal area near the coast of Delfzijl. A bird breeding island has also been created. In the background you can see the port area of Delfzijl. Around the salt marsh you will encounter many species of wading birds.

Nederlands: De Marconi Kwelder is een nieuwe kwelder die is aangelegd in het getijdengebied bij de kust van Delfzijl. Er is ook een vogelbroedeiland aangelegd. Op de achtergrond zie je het havengebied van Delfzijl. Rondom de kwelder kom je met name vele soorten steltlopers tegen.
The Marconi Kwelder can be reached via the eastern harbour quay in the harbour of Delfzijl. The area is accessible on foot, by bike and by car. The train and bus station of Delfzijl is only a fifteen minute walk away.
