Description
The Kippenkade, literally translated "Chicken Quay", is a small and narrow track through a typical Dutch polder landscape and adjacent to the 's Gravenkoop lake, which is part of the larger Reeuwijkse Plassen area. The track is used by local residents to get to their holiday residences, although this isn't frequent. The track is surrounded by trees, small reedbeds and waterways.
The reedbeds provide a great oppurtinity to find Cettisanger, Blåhals and Sivsanger, besides more common species like Rørspurv and Rørsanger. The scattered trees and bushes are great for Gulbug, Gærdesanger and Tornsanger. The gardens of the present residences are good for small flocks of Skovspurv.
The surrounding polders are great for large flocks of geese in the winter months. Large numbers of Bramgås are present here and sometimes rare species like Rødhalset Gås and Dværgsnegås can be spotted within these flocks. During the breeding season, the polders are great for typical waders like Rødben, Stor Kobbersneppe and Brushane. Large flocks of Gul Vipstjert can be present too. Foraging Purpurhejre can be seen next to the ditches. The track itself is a good spot for grass snakes.
The 's Gravenkoop lake is a great spot for Sortterne. They tend to hang around here just before flying to their breeding area in the polders. Large numbers can be seen foraging above the lake. Sometimes, species like Hvidvinget Terne and Dværgmåge can be spotted too.

Access
The area is easy accessable on foot. Parking is a bit tricky, so try to park your car as best as possible so it doesn't block any access roads. The area can also be very muddy.
