Beautiful polder landscape rich in waterfowl. Along the creek De Vlieger you can make a nice walk.
Between Middelharnis and Stad aan 't Haringvliet is the nature reserve De Vliegers. Named after the creek De Vlieger along which the nature reserve was laid out. The area has varied habitats. You come through forests, walk over flowery dikes and look out at typical polder landscape. The water in the creek attracts many birds. Birds you can encounter here include Isfugl, Skarv, Musvåge, Stor Skallesluger, Sivsanger, Munk and Rørhøg.

Nederlands: Tussen Middelharnis en Stad aan ’t Haringvliet ligt natuurgebied De Vliegers. Vernoemd naar de kreek De Vlieger waarlangs het natuurgebied is aangelegd. Mooi polderlandschap rijk aan watervogels. Langs de kreek De Vlieger kun je fraai wandelen en fietsen. Dit gebied is zeer gevarieerd. Je komt door bossen, loopt over bloemrijke dijken en kijkt uit op typisch Flakkees polderlandschap. Het water in de kreek trekt veel vogels. Vogels die je hier kunt tegenkomen zijn onder meer Isfugl, Skarv, Musvåge, Stor Skallesluger, Sivsanger, Munk en Rørhøg.
Easy to reach from Middelharnis. Bicycle path and hiking trail. The walking route shown on the map is about 3 km long.
